As the Program Coordinator, Azah is in charge of communications, student employees, general programming, and the occasional pop-up visit from a student needing to chat. Azah brings ten years of experience working with exchange students in the high school sphere, participating in the U.S. Department of State’s public diplomacy program. She was third in command at a small nonprofit exchange organization for seven years, helping grow the organization from 25 summer students to 125 academic-year students across the United States, plus 50 summer students. Online Learning Module GVEO partners with Vector Solutions to create online programming for our incoming undergraduate (SAPU) and graduate (SAPG) students. Both programs feature trainings on consent culture, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships. The trainings strive to empower students with information and skills to mitigate gender violence as they enter Duke University. To ensure all incoming students have a foundational understanding of consent and bystander intervention, all incoming students are required to complete the training prior to arriving on campus.
