Prior to coming to Duke in September 2015, Marcus served 22 years in the Marine Corps. While serving, his duties included a myriad of responsibilities ranging from communications and information systems to administration and logistics. He currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the department and provides support to the Career Center Senior Leadership staff, including the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs and Fannie Mitchell Executive Director, and Associate Directors.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Jared earned his MA in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership from Tufts University. Before joining the Duke Career Center, Jared worked to provide holistic care to first generation, low-income, and students with undocumented status at Tufts University’s FIRST Resource Center.
