Rebecca Ezersky (she/her/hers) joined Jewish Life at Duke in July 2021 as the Springboard Innovation Fellow. The Springboard Fellow program of Hillel International is a two-year fellowship that brings talented new graduates to campus Hillels throughout the country to build thriving Jewish student communities on campus. Innovation Fellows are trained in design thinking methodology to spark new ideas, connect with students, and infuse creativity into all aspects of JLD’s work. Krystal George joined the Duke Women’s Center in 2015 and is the Assistant Director for Educational Initiatives. She is responsible for providing expertise in the creation, development, assessment of services related to gender based violence for the Duke community. She oversees the implementation of environmental prevention, intervention, education and training efforts to engage undergraduate, graduate and professional students in the reduction and elimination of gender based violence on campus.
Krystal is a 2007 graduate of North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education. In 2008, she received professional certification through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. and received her Masters of Public Administration from Strayer University at RTP in 2009. Krystal worked over 6 years at the NCCU Women’s Center, where she found a passion for helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and also educating the community about this issue. Working at the Duke Women’s Center has allowed her to motivate female students on campus professionally and personally, as well as raise the awareness of gender violence to the university through prevention.
