When the Blue Devil Market opened at Duke one afternoon in October, Jill Solomon felt a cautious optimism. “I expected a good turnout, but I expected it to roll in slowly,” she recalled. “Maybe we’d have 300 people over two hours.” Her team counted 300 students in 20 minutes.
