As the Associate Director, Karin develops programs promoting the integration and success of international students, oversees campus-wide training on cross-cultural issues, and develops assessment strategies for DISC. Her background is in international education, specializing in English as a Second Language, and she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s degree in TESOL/Bilingual Education, both from Georgetown University. Originally from Connecticut, she has lived and worked in Spain and Japan, but now proudly considers the South her home. In her free time, Karin enjoys ballroom and Latin dancing, watching international dramas on Netflix, and reading.
As the Program Coordinator, Azah oversees communications, student employees, general programming, and occasional pop-up visits from students. Azah brings 10 years of experience working with high school exchange students, including participation in the U.S. Department of State’s public diplomacy program. She was third-in-command at a small nonprofit exchange organization for 7 years, helping grow it from 25 summer students to 125 academic-year students across the United States, plus 50 summer students.
