We will specifically be teaching bachata, a popular style and genre of music that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 20th century. No experience necessary. Parents are welcome! Join Mi Gente for a night of exploring our diverse Latinx roots! Get crafty with us as we trace our personal backgrounds, engage in guided reflection, and create a work of art together! Local treats will be provided.
The DCC will be cooking and serving dinner to families transitioning out of homelessness through Families Moving Forward (FMF). FMF is a local non-profit that provides safe housing as well as enrichment programs to help families break the cycle of poverty. We will be praying for these families and cooking dinner on Monday, November 13th at 7:00 PM at the FAH.
Join Jewish Life at Duke for a weekly dinner every Monday in November to discuss Israel from different experts and thought leaders. Free kosher dinner from the Freeman Center Cafe will be provided. **Topics and speakers to be announced soon.
In this class, we’ll practice deconstructing a text to create new meaning with the pieces. We’ll have books you can use, or you can bring something of your own to work with. Need to pursue catharsis through rewording old class materials, maybe?
