Originally from rural Pennsylvania, MJ graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with degrees in sociology and psychology. At IUP she was a resident assistant and production manager for the student newspaper, The Penn. After spending several years working with teens, she returned to residence life as a residence coordinator at Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA. Kaitlyn’s role is overseeing sustainability efforts for all Duke Dining operations. Her day-to-day work can be anything from long-term sustainability planning to digging through the compost bins. Kaitlyn loves that her work is varied and enjoys taking the time to visit the different dining locations across campus. Her current career path got started with accepting a dining sustainability internship in college. Since then, she has worked in all areas of sustainability through various roles.
