The first Shabbat of the year! The official First-Year Class Photo is taking place on East Campus, so we are bringing Shabbat to you this week! Join us on East Campus for Shabbat blessings and our JLD tradition of “Good Thing of the Week,” followed by a free, kosher Shabbat picnic dinner with your new classmates. Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival celebrated by many countries in East Asia. People celebrate it by gathering for dinners, worshiping the moon, lighting paper lanterns, eating mooncakes, etc. Pre-packaged mooncakes and other snacks will be provided by Duke Chinese Student Association.
