Soukous is an 80’s/90’s music and dance style from the Democratic Republic of Congo. During this dance class, we will learn some basic movements and discover how moves from the past have influenced other dance styles like hip hop, salsa, and other international styles.
Grab your dancing shoes (or come barefoot) and head over to the Duke Campus Farm on April 12 from 7-10pm for our biannual Contra Dance! Join us for a night of food, dancing, and live fiddle and keyboard performances. Whether you want to join in the dancing (no experience required) or stargaze and sip cider, we welcome you to the farm. Entry is free, but cash donations are welcome.
