Lauren Denton
she/her/hers
Lauren Denton joined Duke University in February 2023 and serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs.
In her current role, she focuses on managing the Cultural Engagement Fund (CEF), CMA's educational programming, and supporting multiple student organizational programming efforts.
Lauren is a Black and Nepalese woman from Earle, Arkansas. She received her B.S.E in Community Health Promotion from the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!), where her undergraduate experience gave her a second chance to get to know and redefine herself, holistically.
Lauren has based her career around being an advocate, liaison, and solutions-oriented support system for underrepresented students. She earned her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Louisiana State University. As she progresses through her career, Lauren desires to learn more about and innovate the systems that influence different populations.
Some of Lauren's favorites are saving space for herself to consistently be self-aware, being an auntie, listening to music (90s/2000s R&B and Memphis/Southern Rap), and walking outside on sunny days.
