Forever Duke
Our community continues beyond graduation.
The Duke Muslim Alumni (DMA) is committed to developing a strong base of Muslim alumni and cultivate spaces of support, networking, community, and spirituality.
Muslim Alumni Network
Mission
The purpose of Duke Muslim Alumni (DMA) is to develop a strong base of Muslim alumni and cultivate spaces of support, networking, community, and spirituality. We will achieve this purpose through these goals:
Empowerment and Belonging
We hold space for our members to feel empowered to be their authentic selves and celebrate their various lived experiences as Muslims. As a bridge between Duke University and its Muslim alumni, we maintain a sense of belonging through all stages of life. DMA membership is inclusive of all Duke alumni who identify as Muslim across all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools.
Advocacy and Education
We highlight the diversity and achievements of our members, advocate on behalf of past, current, and future students, and promote awareness and deep understanding of Islam to add to the vibrancy of the wider Duke community.
Growth and Networking
We seek to build a pipeline of Muslim leaders by supporting the Duke Center for Muslim Life and the broader Duke Muslim community (i.e. alumni, students, staff, and faculty). We aim to achieve this by creating a thriving and inclusive alumni network with opportunities for personal, professional, social, and spiritual growth.
