The Duke International Student Center is hosting the 2025 Passport to Duke & Durham program for the undergraduate Class of 2029 students to help acclimate to U.S. culture, complete needed paperwork, and set-up specific services ahead of Orientation Week.
What should I expect from the Passport to Duke & Durham and Resource Fair?
- Complete the required visa services check-in and advising with Duke Visa Services staff
- Access resources, including banks, cell phone providers, and Duke International Student Center
- Have time to adjust to substantial time-zone differences before a busy Orientation Week
- Facilitated acclimation to U.S. culture

I-GUIDES
The I-Guides are a team of undergraduate student upper-class leaders who will assist the Duke International Student Center (DISC) and help guide students through the “Passport to Duke and Durham” and Resource Fair and Information Sessions, and plan the week of events and socials. The I-Guides welcome new students as they transition to Duke, Durham, and the broader community and help serve as mentors to students throughout the academic year.
As a participant, you will be assigned an I-Guide ahead of the program (May to August 2025) to assist in your transition to Duke and Durham. The I-Guides will correspond with you via email, social media, and WhatsApp to answer any questions you have before you arrive. Please keep an eye out for their emails.
