About Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month! Women’s History Month (WHM) celebrates, recognizes, and affirms the work and achievements of women and femme-identified individuals living the full diversity of experience. Started in 1981, Women’s History Month is an annual celebration of the past, present, and future of women and femme-identified people. Centering feminist, womanist, and intersectional perspectives, our Women’s History Month programming is meant to honor the wealth of our femme experience while blazing a trail for those yet to come.

Check out the sidebar or tiles below for details about how we’re celebrating each year! If you have a WHM theme suggestion, email us at womenctr@duke.edu with the subject line “WHM Annual Theme.”
