  • Baldwin Quad: Work is underway in phases, including storm drain installation, electrical wiring, lighting, granite curbs, hardscaping, irrigation, and landscaping. Some roadway sections in the Quad are closed.
  • Broad Street Wall: Crews are grading, constructing the wall, and adding landscaping. A pedestrian detour is in place next to the field hockey stadium. Work on the Broad Street Wall project is expected to be completed by May, with the closed segment of the trail expected to reopen in April. 
  • Select Magnolia Trees to be Removed: To improve walkway visibility and enhance contemporary spaces, select overgrown southern magnolia trees will be removed on East Campus starting this month. Read the Duke Today story.

  • Construction is under way at Sarah P. Duke Gardens, marking a transformational redesign to deliver long-awaited enhancements to the visitor experience.
  • The garden grounds are open, but there will be no access to the Doris Duke Center and the Gardens’ parking lots.
  • A new temporary pedestrian entrance at 2000 Lewis Street will replace the main entrance on Anderson Street, which is closed.
  • Visitors also may enter the gardens on foot through the garden gates leading to West Campus along Flowers Drive.

Nasher Museum Sculpture Garden
  • The entrance to the Nasher Museum from Anderson Street is closed. The museum’s main parking lot will remain accessible from Campus Drive and Duke University Road. The space is expected to be ready in the summer of 2025.
