OIT will table all week on BC Plaza. Stop by for games, prizes, and more!
As October kicks off Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Duke’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) is bringing technology groups together as part of Duke Tech Week 2023. Stop by the Bryan Center Plaza today through Thursday, October 5, and learn more about the array of tech resources at your fingertips. You might even see the Blue Devil out there today!
Highlights of Duke Tech Week
Many Duke students have expressed that they are not fully aware of the tech services available to them. That’s why OIT has taken the initiative to meet students where they are — literally. With tables set up on the Bryan Center Plaza, students can take a break on their way from class or a meal at the Brodhead Center. Among the activities you will see on BC Plaza this week…
- Scavenger Hunt – Test your problem-solving skills and win prizes!
- #DukeTechWeek2023 Challenge – Get social and participate in a hashtag challenge
- Lock-Picking Station – See a live demonstration of security practices
- Go Phishing with Security – Games that will help you learn how to protect yourself online
- Immersive Dall-e – Create and jump into your own AI art
- Glowforge Laser Engraving – Personalize your own keychain using cutting-edge technology
- Student-Created Apps – Your peers have built incredible resources that you can begin using right now!
- Free Treats and Giveaways – Enjoy free popcorn, candy, and an abundance of giveaways
Thank you to the technology groups that have made these activities possible, including The Link, the Information Technology Security Office, the Innovation Co-Lab, Bryan Center Studios, Code+, Data+, the Center for Computational Thinking, the Duke Technology Center, and many more.
See You There!
Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or just curious about the latest advancements, Duke Tech Week will showcase the full spectrum of tech resources that Duke students can access. Join the celebration of innovation, creativity, and the limitless possibilities that technology brings to our community.
