Alex joined Duke in 2024 as the Associate Director of Gender Violence Education and Outreach. She works to empower students through education, awareness, and proactive measures to foster a campus culture of consent, respect, and accountability. Alex works with campus partners and student organizations to develop and produce programming on campus in support of this goal. Alex earned her Bachelor Degrees in Art Therapy and Psychology from Converse College. She received her Master Degree in Clinical Art therapy & Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. From there, Alex has worked in various community settings, including rape crisis centers, IPV-focused community programs, and psychiatric hospitals. Through these experiences, she has witnessed the transformative power of creating a supportive community network. Outside of work, you can find Alex sketching a nature scene while out on a hike, engrossed in her latest fantasy novel, or enjoying the company of her partner and her two cats.
