Kristin LoBiondo Pfeiffer has been around higher ed her entire life, living her first 6 years in a residence hall with her hall-director mom (hi, Dean Deb!). After studying music at Elon University, she began her venture into working in higher ed with a position at Duke in Student Activities, advising student organizations on event planning. Fast forward through leaving Duke for an arts administration job, and a few marketing jobs, and Kristin found herself back at Duke Student Affairs in 2018, supporting communications efforts. As the Communications Strategist for SA Comms, Kristin runs the Student Affairs social channels, manages the website, supervises the Comms student intern team, and loves building relationships with other communicators and colleagues across the Duke community. She gets her energy from being around students, her favorite days of the year being first-year move-in and LDOC.
Kristin finds any excuse to be around dogs – her pup Max frequents the office, bringing cheer and adorableness to everyone he greets. She has been married to her partner Mike as long as she’s been back at Duke (the wedding was a month after she returned), and they love living in North Durham near the Eno, going to movies and concerts at the Carolina Theatre, religiously watching Carolina Hurricanes hockey and Duke Basketball, and having board game nights. If you make it to a Duke basketball, softball, or baseball game, you might just catch Kristin singing the National Anthem, as she does at least once per season for each sport!
Kristin’s Adobe Creative Type is the Innovator, and if you know her well, you know she likes to shake things up with new ideas and loves forward progress.
