Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey

The Sexual Misconduct Climate Survey measures Duke's campus climate around sexual harassment and violence. These surveys are considered a best practice for universities to understand sexual misconduct, evaluate resources and response tools, and inform prevention efforts.

Why Incentives?

Offering a small acknowledgment for your time helps encourage broad participation, ensuring the survey reflects the experiences of our community. This allows for meaningful insights and stronger efforts to foster a supportive campus environment. 

To recognize the time and thought you put into this survey, we are offering a small gesture of appreciation. 

If you’d like to be considered for the acknowledgments listed below, please provide your name and Duke email address in the form. 

Please note: The contact information you submit on the incentives form will be kept entirely separate from your survey responses. Your survey results remain anonymous, with no association to the identifying information provided for prize eligibility.

Acknowledgments for survey participation:  

  • $5 in food points (provided to the first 200 students to complete the survey) 

Students who complete the survey and provide their contact information on the prize form (at the end of the survey) will also be entered into a raffle for additional prizes. Complete the survey during the first week of the survey launch (March 18–March 24) and receive 20 raffle entries; the second week (March 25–March 31) 15 raffle entries; the third week (April 1–April 7) 10 raffle entries, and the final week (April 8–April 15): 5 raffle entries

Prizes for the raffle include:

  • LDOC poster signed by the artists performing (to be announced)
  • Duke diploma frame
  • Gift from the Bookstore

Raffle winners will be notified via email after the survey closes. 

Yes. The survey is completely anonymous and the results are confidential. 

The survey takes 20-30 minutes and must be completed in one sitting. Many participants complete the survey in 10-15 minutes.

We understand that some questions my be difficult to answer. Please know that you may skip any question or stop responding at any time. Your well-being is important, and support is available. Click the button below for campus and community resources.

Because this survey is designed for use by multiple schools, some terms and definitions may differ from language we use at Duke. Please answer the questions consistent with the terminology in the survey. All students - undergraduate, graduate and professional - will be invited to take the survey.

All survey participants must be 18 or older. 

Survey results are submitted to a secure, off-campus server hosted by and accessible only to an external consultant (Rankin) who will compile the results and share with Duke administration.
