COURSE INTRODUCTION
Duke University Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Office is offering QPR Gatekeeper Training to support the broader campus community.
Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a gatekeeper course focused on reducing suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
The Dean of Students Office has adopted this course and is offering it virtually through Canvas to empower students, faculty, and staff support their fellow Blue Devils through a crisis. You can register and complete the training by visiting https://duke.is/qpr. Once you follow this link, click on Log Into Canvas in the top right.
If you are a department, office, or organization, and interested in an in-person group facilitation, please contact Julie Townley, Assistant Dean of Students, at julie.townley@duke.edu.
