Welcome to Duke!
We are thrilled to have you as part of the campus community and can’t wait for you to experience all that Duke has in store for you during your time here.
This is your Duke Blueprint, and it’s here to help you navigate your first semester at Duke (and beyond)! We created this resource knowing that life transitions can be challenging and stressful, especially diving into a place like Duke. There are so many amazing people, opportunities, and decisions that sometimes it can be overwhelming (even if you don’t feel it in the moment)!
The Blueprint is a guide to help you transition well and a coach to help you establish healthy habits early in your time at Duke. Using reflections from upper-class students who have been in your shoes, we want you to know two things: first, that you’re not alone in your experience. Many of your peers are navigating the same stressors. And secondly, that taking time to process and reflect on the questions they ask is a really good thing. By using this resource on a daily or weekly basis, we hope you will find the transition to be more navigable than doing it alone.
In addition to weekly reflections, we’ve also included links, reminders, and calendars of the resources and services that Duke provides to better your academic, emotional, and social well-being.
Again, welcome to this amazing community! We can’t wait to see you flourish here.
Go Duke!
