RCs are live-in professional staff members who oversee specific residence halls (known as houses or Quads). They ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. They supervise the RA staff, advise councils, support students of concerns, serve as conduct hearing officers, manage facilities concerns, and engage with residential students to support belonging, engagement, and well-being. They serve in the RC on-call rotation.
Residence Coordinator: Kayla Wood
RAs are upperclassmen who live in the residence halls and students with anything from navigating campus to organizing fun and engaging activities. They provide support and resources for students in need or crisis and serve in an on-call rotation.
Living Learning Communities at Duke strive to create a residential environment that fosters a sense of belonging and intellectual exploration on a particular topic or area of focus. Signature Community Events
- Night of Crows (Founder’s Day Event)
- On Sunday, September 24, the Crowell Quad Council hosted its first and most significant event ofthe fall semester: Night of the Crows. Taking place on the founding day of Crowell Quad, Night ofthe Crows serves as a longstanding tradition to welcome and ‘initiate’ new Giles and Wilson first-years into their Crowell QuadEx connection. As the only quad with a tradition like this, our quad council worked hard to integrate upperclassmen into the night as well, hosting a flock party on our quad from 10pm-12am for all to enjoy.
