Local vendor Thrive Kitchen and Catering will open a new dining venue in the Bryan Center this fall, according to Duke Dining.
The new venue will replace The Loop, whose contract is set to expire at the end of this school year. The Loop’s last day of operation will be May 5, 2023.
Reed Frankel, the owner of Thrive Kitchen and Catering, said his team is “humbled and excited” to open this new location. “Just as we have with Thrive Kitchen & Catering and The Devil’s Krafthouse, we will continue to focus on providing an exceptional customer experience for the students, faculty & staff,” he remarked.
Frankel also previewed renovations that will “enhance the atmosphere” and expand the space’s capabilities for special events hosted by student groups. Aris Marton, Director of Retail Operations for Duke Dining said, “We’re looking forward to partnering with Thrive Kitchen and Catering on this new opportunity to create an engaging space that will benefit the student and Duke community experience.”
Duke’s Student Dining Advisory Committee (DUSDAC) played a crucial role in selecting Thrive Kitchen and Catering as the location’s new vendor. “It means a lot that Thrive Kitchen and Catering and the dining administration cared so much about our perspective as students,” added DUSDAC co-chair Karina Marinovich, Class of 2025. “Thrive Kitchen and Catering’s food was incredible, and I cannot wait until they move into the Bryan Center. I still think about the tacos I tried, and I will definitely be a frequent visitor once they open!”
