Academic Opportunities for Undocumented Students

You face unique challenges. Take advantage of our full range of academic resources.

Undocumented students deal with academic, social, and emotional challenges unique to their situation. To  help you get the best Duke University experience, we encourage undocumented students to explore all of the services provided by the Academic Resource Center, Academic Advising Center, Bass Connections, DukeEngage, Duke Immerse, and Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Academic Resource Center

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) offers a variety of services including Learning ConsultationsPeer Tutoring and Study Groups, and ADHD/LD Support. ARC services are free to all students during their undergraduate careers at Duke.

Our Learning Consultants provide one-on-one consultations during the academic year and summer sessions. With attention to time management and learning approaches, we work with each student to discover and develop their own academic strategy for success at Duke.

Peer tutoring is available in several courses in chemistry, computer science, economics, engineering, math, physics, and languages. Individual and walk-in tutoring is available as well as study groups for certain math and biology courses.

Students can access resources such as ADHD coaching and tailored learning strategies as well as screenings for ADHD/LD.

Students in any year, studying any discipline, and at any point in the semester can benefit from using ARC services.
