STUDENT AFFAIRS
OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY
ABOUT US
Student Affairs Office of Sustainability is a resource to students, faculty, and staff interested in engaging in sustainability efforts in and around areas of Student Affairs. The mission of our office is to support the strategic sustainability goals of the university by enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of all aspects of Student Affairs. Our efforts are focused on three interconnected pillars: Stakeholder Collaboration, Education & Outreach, and Operations & Infrastructure.
THREE PILLARS:
Student Affairs Sustainability (SAS) believes the best way to promote permanent change is to collaborate with those the change most impacts. Our partners include, Student Affairs staff from across the department, faculty, students and student groups, and those partnering with us to lead project based research.
As an active member of Duke’s campus, Student Affairs Sustainability recognizes that communications is key to the success. Our office prioritizes, sharing information from collaborations, communicating new Student Affairs programs, and working with classes across the curriculum to research and address specific challenges and points of interest.
The Student Affairs Facility Planning and Operations unit, along with its Office of Sustainability, is continuously working to include the most up-to-date environmental techniques and resources into their daily maintenance and larger facility planning and construction.
